A robot at the Ardh Kumbh Mela

I am an Associate Professor of Instruction in the Department of Asian Languages and Cultures at Northwestern University, where I teach courses in Hindi-Urdu language and literature, and on South Asian literature, film, and history more broadly. My scholarly interests include South Asian urban and regional history, Bollywood cinema, and the history of Hindi-Urdu language and literature. My research focuses primarily on the urban history and intellectual life of Patna, a city in the north Indian region of Bihar.

I also run Green Ink Academic Editing.
